Invasive Trauma Interventions

This is our needles and hoses class – go beyond our IFAK Life Saver and Wilderness First Aid training with IVs, Crics, Needle Decomps and NPAs. Under the careful supervision of our highly experienced instructors, you will both give and receive a nasal airway and an IV saline lock in this class, after using training aids to practice the techniques. You will also use realistic training aids to effectively administer an invasive airway through the cric membrane, and give a needle decompression to relieve the symptoms of tension pneumothorax. These are techniques that may be vital to the survival of someone under your care (or you!) should emergency care be far away or unavailable, yet all of these techniques require minimal and easy to carry equipment.

**This course has a pre-requisite of our IFAK Life Saver or Wilderness First Aid course or similar training, based on our approval.**
